The Making of Leeds

Leeds has grown from humble beginnings to become the leading city in Yorkshire, a modern, dynamic metropolis. This book traces the development of many aspects of Leeds, including its transport network and how health has improved. The Making of Leeds also illustrates how the people of Leeds have changed, especially in relation to their dwelling place and their leisure time. Aided by the use of drawing and photographs, the book is not an exhaustive account of Leeds' growth, but a number of chapters which help to bring to life, aspects of Leeds growth and how it developed to become the vibrant city it is today.
