The Geology & Landscape of South West England
Thousands are drawn to the natural beauty of South West England every year; a landscape that has evolved over millions of years through geological processes, some of which may seem mundane and familiar, some surprising and exotic. The pictures in this book are intended as a celebration of this glorious landscape, but also as a reminder of, and a pointer to, the processes that have been at work through the millennia of geological time. With a little help the evidence is there for all to see.
“A sumptuous celebration of South West England’s natural gems, evocatively revealing the deep history of our land through the rocks beneath. Wonderful stuff!”
Professor Iain Stewart, geologist and broadcaster.
“Robert Westwood is the best portrait photographer that rocks could ever wish for, capturing them in light that reveals their beauty and profundity.”
Marcia Bjornerud, Professor of Geosciences, Lawrence University, Wisconsin.
