Mayflower: Learning the Land 1620-2020: Anthology of Young Peoples Writing 2020

The final book in a series of three, this anthology commemorates the sailing of the Mayflower in 1620, 400 years ago. This anthology features the collaboration of young people from Plymouth UK, Plymouth USA and Leiden in the Netherlands. We know that the passengers of the Mayflower had help from the Wampanoag tribe when they reached the Americas. Pupils were asked to think about the themes of nature, craft and making a home. Many took this theme in different directions, crafting poetry, fiction, non-fiction and illustrations to portray their ideas about what moving to a new home and having to learn the land would be like.
