Aspects of Leeds 2

Following the great success of Aspects of Leeds 1, we are now delighted to announce the forthcoming publication of Aspects of Leeds 2. In this edition, we witness the arrival of the Black Prince in the City and revisit Leeds United during their breakthrough years of 1964 and 1965. The story of OThose Jaw BonesO reveals the links between the City and the whaling industry, while the story of the first Trade Union Strike on the Aire and Calder Canal in the 1890's, reveals attitudes of 19th century employers. There are glimpses of life at school, work and play in the City in the latter years of the 19th and early 20th century. All carefully researched and thoughtfully illustrated. The book contains twelve previously unpublished contributions from local authors and it cannot help but be of interest to researchers and general readers alike.
