Description

This Weatherproof OS Landranger map is the last word in durability and will outlast many other apparently similar products. The map is covered in tough polyester film which is much stronger than the polypropylene commonly used. The map is supplied in a clear plastic wallet with a see-through compass, to help you get your bearings, and a distance ruler which measures both miles and kilometers. This map is ideal for the serious cyclist or walker who needs it to withstand not only the weather but also general wear and tear. It can even be used to shelter under in a downpour!
Be assured that once you have used an “Outstanding All Weather Map” you will accept no substitute! The rugged nature of the map also makes it a perfect choice for the likes of libraries and tour companies, where constant handling soon ruins a paper map.

Landranger maps are just the ticket for cyclists, long distance walkers and the motorist who wishes to get off the beaten track. They have enough information to navigate everything but the smallest paths, these maps certainly pack an awful lot in to a big area.
The map shows byways, footpaths and bridleways as well as surfaced cycle routes including the National Cycle Network. National Trails and long distance routes are also depicted and public rights of way are shown. The map provides comprehensive information on land features including canals, footbridges, tidal limits, marsh, woods, Forestry Commission and National Trust land as well as more general detail such as churches, post office and public houses.
Information for tourists includes camp and caravan sites, gardens, golf courses, information and visitor centres, nature reserves, picnic sites, public conveniences, telephones, viewpoints, walks and youth hostels. The tourist and leisure information is also written in German and French.
Height is registered by contour lines which are at 10 metres with spot heights shown in metres above sea level. Most of the maps in this series cover an area of 40 by 40 km (25 by 25 miles). The maps are overlaid by latitude and longitude lines of the National grid which are spaced at 1 km intervals.
