Amsterdam is the capital (though the seat of government is The Hague), with a time difference of 1 hour ahead of GMT. The currency is the euro, and exports include metal manufacturing, chemicals and foodstuffs. The population of approximately 16,700,000 people comprises an ethnic makeup that is 80.7% Dutch. The primary language is Dutch, and the predominant religion is Christianity.
