Universal Publications
Universal Publications is a publishing company based in Hong Kong, primarily publishing academic textbooks and language teaching aids since 1968. In the early 1970s, Universal Publications produced its first folded street map of Hong Kong. Following the success of the map, the 'Hong Kong Guidebook' was published. This guidebook has become one of the best selling titles in Hong Kong, putting Universal Publications at the forefront of Hong Kong mapping ever since. The company began computerising their entire operation in the early 1990s, and this has led to an increased diversification of map products that take advantage of the company's vast database of digital mapping information. For example, the 'Hong Kong Directory' and the 'Hong Kong Driving Guide' have become very popular with locals and tourists alike.
