I wonder if Christopher Columbus (c. 31 October 1451 – 20 May 1506) would have made it into the history books without the use of Nautical Charts. He most certainly would not have won the attention of Isabella I of Castle who funded all of his four voyages of explorations to establish a settlement on the island of Hispaniola, where he initiated the process of Spanish colonization. He certainly caught her attention.
