Southern Africa
Southern Africa is the area incorporating the nations of Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa and Swaziland. With a history of European influence dating from the days of the slave trade and continuing with the discovery of mineral resources, most of Southern Africa has experienced conflict against the white minority at some point in its recent past. The terrain of Southern Africa is diverse, including forests grasslands deserts and mountains. The Zambezi River leads to one of the greatest natural wonders in the world, the Victoria Falls. The Victoria Falls are located across two national parks, Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park in Zambia and Victoria Falls National Park in Zimbabwe. Thanks to the Zambezi and irrigation schemes such as the Orange River Project, a wide range of crops can be grown in the area, giving the region the potential to be a fertile and prolific producer of food.
